Were you fighting with other kids or facing challenging situations in your life at that time?
There could have been challenging issues for the family as a whole or for your parents that you felt overwhelmed by. Sometimes parents do not talk about major issues in front of their kids, but possibly you picked up on it?
To see a gorilla in your dreams usually means going “over the top” in your behavior which could mean compensating for any dullness, rigidity and stiffness in your waking life. Possibly you wanted greater freedom when you were a child?
